Elmtrackr is a shift tracker for Android phones and tablets. Clock in and out with one tap, watch a live timer count the shift as it runs, and let each shift file itself with the hours recorded. Everything is written to your device first, so tracking keeps working even with no connection.

Clock in and out from anywhere
A shift starts with a single tap. You can clock in and out from the app itself, a home-screen widget, the ongoing notification, an app shortcut, or a paired Wear OS watch — so you are never more than one action away from starting the record. When you punch out, the shift is filed with its hours.
The active-shift timer
While a shift runs, Elmtrackr keeps a live reading: the elapsed time, the pay rate that applies at that moment, and an estimated gross counted so far. An ongoing notification shows the running shift without opening the app, and optional overtime reminders can nudge you as a long shift crosses the thresholds you set.
For example, if you clock in at 09:00 on a regular rate and keep working past your daily overtime threshold, the timer keeps counting and the rate shown updates when the overtime tier begins — you can see the change happen rather than working it out later.
Add past shifts and correct mistakes
Forgot to punch, or need to fix a reading? You can add a shift after the fact and edit an existing one — adjust its start, end or rate. A correction recalculates the estimate straight away, so the record stays consistent with what actually happened.
Record what the time went on
You can attach tasks to a shift to capture what you were doing, with suggestions drawn from your own habits. The task detail is stored on the shift, and monthly reports can break your hours down by task. See task time tracking for how that works.
Home-screen widgets
Elmtrackr ships five home-screen widgets in 1×1, 4×1 and 4×2 sizes — from a single punch-in button to a live progress view — so the shift stays one glance away without opening the app.
Runs on Android phones and tablets
The app requires Android 8.0 or newer and runs on both phones and tablets. A separate companion runs on Wear OS 3 and newer watches — see the Wear OS shift tracker.
Offline-first, with optional sync
Your shifts are written to an encrypted database on the device first, so tracking works with no connection. If you sign in and cloud sync has been set up, your data can sync across devices once you are back online; if you do not, everything simply stays on the device. Sync, signing in and receipt upload are the only parts that need a network.

Reports and exports
At the end of a period, monthly and weekly reports show your hours with regular, overtime and weekend breakdowns, and you can export any month as a CSV file or a PDF report. See work-hours reports for the detail.
Limitations
A few things worth knowing before you rely on it:
- Clock actions from the widget, notification or watch are held while the biometric app lock is engaged, until you unlock the app.
- Overtime reminders and some report insights are optional features you can switch on or off.
- Cloud sync needs a signed-in account and a network connection; without them the app stays fully local.
- The estimated gross is for your own reference. It is an estimate, not an official payslip.
Frequently asked questions
Can I clock in without opening the app?
Yes. You can start and end a shift from a home-screen widget, the ongoing notification, an app shortcut or a paired Wear OS watch, as well as from inside the app.
Does shift tracking work without internet?
Yes. Shifts are saved on the device, so tracking works fully offline. A connection is only needed for optional cloud sync, signing in, and uploading receipts.
Can I fix a shift I forgot to start?
Yes. You can add a shift after it happened, or edit an existing shift's start, end or rate, and the estimate updates to match.
Which Android version do I need?
Android 8.0 or newer. A separate companion app runs on Wear OS 3 and newer.
Where is my shift data kept?
In an encrypted database on your device. Cloud sync is optional and only moves data off the device once you sign in and it has been configured.
